Cambridge O Level, with the papers in front of you

O Level rewards precision more than flair, and the students who miss out are usually the ones who were never shown what a full-mark answer looks like. Our tutors show them, weekly, on the actual papers.

Why O Level is different

A syllabus that punishes approximation

O Level papers are less forgiving than their IGCSE cousins. Structured questions expect a particular form of words, Mathematics D wants working laid out in a specific order, and the sciences award marks for terminology that a student can understand perfectly well and still fail to write down.

Teaching that gap is repetitive work, which is exactly why it does not happen in a crowded classroom. One to one, a tutor can make a student rewrite the same three-mark answer four times in a session until the phrasing is automatic, and nobody else in the room is bored.

  • Mark-scheme language taught explicitly, not left for the student to infer
  • Mathematics D worked in the layout the paper expects, including surds and bearings
  • Pakistan Studies and Islamiyat taught by tutors who have examined those specific papers
  • Timed section practice from week one, because O Level is a speed test as much as a knowledge test

O Level subjects on the timetable

Codes shift between syllabus years, so the tutor confirms the exact code and variant against your child's entry before the plan is written.

๐Ÿ”ฌ

Sciences and mathematics

The core O Level load, taught with an eye on the practical alternative and on the arithmetic that quietly costs marks in physics and chemistry calculations.

How a course actually runs

The weekly cycle

Five moving parts, repeated until the exam. There is no sixth secret part.

01

Diagnostic before you pay

A section of a recent paper, marked live during the free trial. Parents sit in if they want to. Most of the useful information comes out in the first ten minutes.

02

Topic taught, then narrowed

The tutor teaches the topic, then immediately narrows to how that topic is examined at O Level, which is frequently a much smaller target than the textbook suggests.

03

Written under time

Every session ends with a timed section done on paper and photographed. Working on paper matters because the exam is on paper and handwriting speed is a real constraint.

04

Marked to the grid

The tutor marks it to the official mark scheme, annotates where a mark was refused, and returns it before the next session. Students see the refusal, not just the score.

05

Rewrite the weak answer

The following session opens with a rewrite of the worst answer from the previous week. This is the least popular part of the course and the part that moves grades.

See a marked script before you decide

The free trial ends with a piece of your child's own work marked against the real grid, with the refused marks explained. That artefact is useful whether or not you book with us.

Free trial

Thirty minutes with the tutor you would actually be assigned. They set a short diagnostic task, mark it live, and tell you where the gaps are. No card details.

๐Ÿ“…

Weekly slot

One fixed 55 minute session a week, billed monthly in advance. Your tutor and your time do not move unless you move them.

โšก

Exam sprint

A block of eight sessions in the six weeks before the series, built around past papers and examiner reports rather than new content.

๐Ÿ“š

Two-subject block

Two subjects taught by the same tutor in back-to-back sessions on one evening, which suits families juggling one screen and one quiet room.

Rescheduling is free with 12 hours notice. Inside 12 hours the session counts as taught, which is the only way a tutor can hold a fixed slot for you and still plan a week around it.
Questions parents ask first

O Level, answered plainly

My child's school teaches O Level but the exam variant is different. Does that matter?

It matters a great deal. Variants differ in question style and sometimes in content emphasis, so the tutor confirms the variant on your entry and drills the correct one.

If you are unsure of the variant, the registration document from your exam centre will state it.

Can you teach Pakistan Studies and Islamiyat?

Yes, both, and by tutors who have examined those papers rather than by generalists reading a textbook a week ahead of the student.

How much homework is set?

One timed section a week, which takes between thirty and fifty minutes. We set less than most parents expect, on the grounds that work which is actually completed and actually marked beats work that is set and abandoned.

Do you cover the practical alternative papers?

Yes. Apparatus, method, tables, graphs and sources of error are taught as writing skills, since that is how the paper tests them.

What happens in the week of the exam?

Sessions become shorter and lighter. The tutor reviews the specific question types your child still fumbles, then stops teaching new material entirely. Cramming in the final week reliably costs more than it earns.
